Underwriter for U.S. Agricultural Risks

We are looking to fill an immediate vacancy for an Underwriter for U.S. Agricultural Risks in the Agricultural Risks Department. This is a permanent full time position.

Duties:

  • Assume liability for the U.S. agricultural risks portfolio
  • Analyse reinsurance proposals. This includes risk assessment and pricing
  • Independently handle all general and contractual correspondence, carry out administrative duties and perform contract management tasks
  • Assist in developing reinsurance concepts
  • Look after our U.S. clients by attending to their interests promptly, courteously and attentively
  • Perform analyses and evaluations
  • Having successfully completed an induction period in which they become acquainted with the portfolio, candidates may be asked to take on responsibility for claims adjustment and sporadic risk inspection (including on-site inspections)

Specifications:

  • Successful candidates will have earned a university degree in Agricultural Economics and / or Agricultural Engineering with a concentration in grain growing and grain production.
  • A minimum of two years professional experience acquired in a relevant field, ideally abroad
  • Very strong English languange skills. In addition to this, (very) strong language skills of a further Romance language (Spanish / Portuguese) are advantageous.
  • Very strong analytical thinking skills
  • Teamwork and cooperation are an absolute necessity.
  • A high willingness to become acquainted with new tasks
  • Willing to even go on long business trips and inspect local agricultural risks
