Navigation
Main navigation
The main navigation separates the upper page area from the content area. When the cursor is moved over a menu item the colour of the field changes from blue to orange and the font colour changes from dark blue to white. This colour scheme is retained if a menu item is selected by clicking on it. In this way you can always recognise the area in which you are currently located.
Sub-navigation
The sub-navigation is located on the left side of the page. It displays the sub-items of the area selected in the main navigation. You can click on a topic to access the corresponding content. A colour change to orange indicates the selected and currently displayed sub-item.
Service navigation / Imprint
The service navigation (home, english, sitemap, glossary and e-mail) is located at the top right of the page. It also includes the search function and the link to the imprint.
Breadcrumb navigation
The breadcrumb navigation is located between the main navigation and the content area. It shows the path to the current page. A path element can be selected by clicking on it, thereby enabling you to access the corresponding higher-level areas.
Service navigation in the content area
Thre additional service buttons are normally available at the end of the content area:
- "top" returns the reader to the top of the page
- "send to a colleague" gives you the option of sending a link to the current content to another interested reader
- "print" enables you to print the page in a clear, orderly layout
Logo and site identifier
By clicking the logo at the top left of the page or the site identifier (e.g. Hannover Re Group) in the top middle of the page you can go to the homepage of the website.
Links
Links in the content
Links in the content are displayed in blue font and underlined, unless the user has applied individual colour settings in his/her browser. When the cursor is moved over a link the colour changes to orange and the link name is displayed in a small help window (tool tip).
Links in the container column
Links in the container column are indicated by an arrow either before or after the keyword and become underlined when the cursor is moved over them. If a container contains a visual as well as a single additional link, the visual also provides the corresponding link.
